Last week, I spent two days at the EstBuild fair. It was my first time in a role like this — not just as a visitor, but as someone standing behind a big idea and helping to tell its story.
I was there to support Mait Schmidt and his vision — Estonia’s first Housing Fair ( Elamumess. Mait showed up with his whole being. For three days straight. He didn’t just sit in the booth, waiting for someone to come and ask questions. No. He talked to every single person who walked by. Not aggressively, not with a sales pitch — but genuinely and sincerely.
He shared his vision, his dream, and the reason behind it.
And what’s especially powerful? Some of Estonia’s best architects, builders, and collaborators have already joined this vision. Not just because the project is interesting — but because people recognize when something carries real meaning.
Every day I work with Mait, I feel more and more certain about something very simple but incredibly powerful: When a person is deeply connected to their vision, to their inner fire, that invisible flame naturally draws people in.
That, to me, is the core of a strong personal brand. Not design. Not clever marketing tricks.
But authenticity. Radiant passion. Words that come straight from the heart.
Honestly, this was my first time experiencing a trade fair from this side. But I started to love it — watching how people who first tried to just walk past would stop, listen, nod… and want to be part of it.
That’s the kind of impact that doesn’t come from “sales.” It comes from passion. From someone who dares to share their vision as it is — unfiltered.
A personal brand is not a strategy — it’s a state of being. We often talk about personal branding like it’s something we need to build — like a project. But really, it’s more about embodiment. It’s about presence. Energy. That inner flame burning for something meaningful.
Mait is not a marketing guru. But he is someone who wholeheartedly believes in what he’s doing. And that’s the strongest brand there is. His presence isn’t about “sales.” It’s about inspiration. And that’s exactly why he’s such a powerful communicator.
If you want people to listen to you, to trust you, and to walk with you, don’t start from the outside. Start from within:
What truly fuels you?
Why does what you do genuinely inspire you?
Are you willing to talk about it like you would over coffee with a close friend?
When you’re in touch with your vision, marketing doesn’t feel like an obligation — it becomes sharing. And sharing is easy when it comes from the heart.
