My mornings usually start with quiet moments of self-reflection, reading, and meditation — a sacred time to center myself before the day unfolds. But today was different.

This morning, instead of my usual routine, I found myself in the bright lights of morning television, analyzing the day’s newspapers with Mats Soomre. As an NLP practitioner, I’m acutely aware of the impact that language and the information we feed our minds have on our thoughts and overall outlook. And honestly? It was tough to find positive news.

I know, I know — negativity sells and grabs attention. Our brains are wired to respond to threats and negative stimuli (it’s part of our survival instinct). But is that really how we want to start our day? The constant stream of fear and bad news is bound to weigh on us over time.

So Mats and I made it our mission to uncover the positive — and guess what? Õpetajate Leht (Teachers’ Newspaper) took the crown for the most uplifting news source today. My choice of articles highlighted two inspiring pieces:

An article about Lauri Leesi, an iconic personal brand and a true legend in Estonia — https://lnkd.in/ezaPDup5. It was so heartwarming to read how his colleagues and students shared different stories about him. From a personal branding perspective, Lauri Leesi is a perfect example of a visionary, an icon, a legend that has positively influenced the lives of so many. Personal brand is not only what you say or do- it’s how you make people feel.

A thoughtful piece on career studies as a valuable investment in the future of students and schools — https://lnkd.in/evrP2m3x

Merit Luik, one of the contributors to the career studies article, reached out afterward and said something that really stuck with me:

“Oh, you made so many people happy today, thank you! The article in Õpetajate Leht that you presented on Terevisioon was a synthesis of a major process — we have been working on a school guidance material for a year now, and it’s receiving its final touches. That article was essentially a miniature summary of the guide. Dozens of people have contributed to this process. Thank you, on behalf of all of them, for highlighting the importance of career studies!”

For me, Merit‘s message an important reminder that we have the power to shape the narrative—to choose what we consume and share. Let’s focus more on honoring the people shaping the future, spreading positivity, and building hope. Our society—and the world—desperately needs more of that.

Thank you, Monika Kuzmina and your amazing team!
