Olesija Saue - Personal Branding

This is a question I received from the upcoming workshop participants of the amazing Impact Day team, and I will use this post to illustrate the answer. So read on.

When people understand the importance of consciously and strategically managing their personal brand, the daunting task of constantly creating content and engaging online becomes a primary concern. However, what if we could simplify this process, making it manageable and a natural part of our daily professional activities? Let me show you a simple strategy I use.

  • The key to simplifying personal branding lies in integrating it with our everyday professional tasks. By treating personal branding as an extension of our daily work, we eliminate the need for additional efforts and enrich our existing activities with purposeful reflection and innovation.
  • Turn daily or weekly learnings and work experiences into insightful reflections. This positions you as a thought leader and makes content creation an effortless part of your worklife.
  • Share the journey of your projects, including challenges and triumphs. This approach showcases your problem-solving skills and industry knowledge without requiring additional research or time.
  • Invite your network to engage with your reflections and idea. This not only amplifies your reach but also enriches your brand with diverse perspectives. And it might give you new perspectives you’ve never thought of.
  • Post about ideas you’re exploring, even if they’re half-baked. Invite feedback to foster community engagement and collaborative thinking.
  • Authentic stories resonate more deeply with your audience, establishing a stronger connection without the need for constant, energy-draining content creation. Write from your heart; when you truly do, you won’t need to worry about algorithms.
  • And one unpopular piece of advice. Don’t post just for the sake of posting. Focus on quality on the quantity. Quantity might get you more visibility, but only quality will build a credible brand.

Last but not least- Consistency is key. Decide on a realistic schedule—whether it’s daily, weekly, or monthly posts—and stick to it. Remember, the goal is to integrate this practice into your professional life without it becoming a burden.

WAS IT HELPFUL? LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS!

p.s. Did you notice what I just did in this post? I brainstormed how to address the question during my workshop, which clarified what I wanted to point out, allowed me to share a valuable tip with you, and generated new ideas on how to expand on this topic. Time invested – 32 minutes.
